VII.          Evaluation-Homework, 4 - Tests, and Final Exam – All Proctored.  Location of the exams will be determined depending on student location. They generally will be proctored in Swainsboro, Statesboro, or Augusta campuses. You will have to bring proof of identification with you in order to take any proctored exams.   If a student is not able to go to one of the main campuses, he/she should contact the instructor (Dr. Brown).  It will be possible to have the proctoring accomplished using ProctureU, an independent company that the student will have to register with and pay their fee which will run about $20.00 per test depending on the length of the test.

VIII.        Grading: Grades will be based on the following: 1) Homework: (via MyMathLab) 100 points. 2) 4 Tests: each Test counts 100 points. 3) Final Exam: 100 points The average of the 4 Tests plus the homework will count 70% of the final grade, and the comprehensive final examination will count 30% of the grade.
Grading formula:  Final Grade = (.7* Test average + .3* Exam)

A 90-100%, B 80-89%, C 70-79%, D 60-69%, F 0-59%, W (withdrawal by mid-term)

One additional grading policy involves allowing the grade to be determined by the final exam grade only.  Generally, a student should attempt to do well throughout the semester and not depend on pulling his/her grade up on the final exam.  However, occasionally, this policy has helped students who were able to gain a substantial understanding of the course material and demonstrate their proficiency on the final exam. Student homework is graded automatically by MyMathLab. Tests and Final exam grades are reported within 48 hours or sooner in D2L.  Midterm Grades and course averages are provided going into the final in D2L.

IX.            Attendance Policy: Students are expected to participate in the class by reading emails and announcements daily. Online learning requires the learner to take more responsibility in the class. A student must verify their attendance when asked in the class or they may be dropped from the class. Do not wait until the last minute to do the work in the class.  Watch all videos as shown on the schedule and work all homework according to the schedule.

X.              Make-up Policy: A student who has advanced permission from the instructor to miss a test for a legitimate reason (documented cases of illness, death in the family or other documented reasons deemed appropriate by the instructor)  may at the instructor’s discretion make the test up.

XI.            Plagiarism & Academic Dishonesty: http://www.ega.edu/policy/04-academic-honesty-policy.pdf

Decisions regarding withdrawal from courses should only be made after consultation with an academic advisor. Before withdrawing from a course, students should meet with a Financial Aid representative to discuss their personal financial aid situation. More information regarding withdrawal from courses can be found in the EGC catalog at http://www.ega.edu/offices/student_affairs/registrars_office/catalogs

If you have difficulties locating either ask your instructor to assist you.
